Story time.


Everytime tinitignan ko 'tong paint, isa lang naalala ko - someone na malapit sa akin. Way back 2022 month of May, inumpisahan ko itong paint. It was supposedly to be a wave paint na look-alike sa 'The Great Wave off Kanagawa' but that was time din na naka received kami ng sad news. Naumpisahan ko lang 'yung paint ng wala pa sa 50% progress and because of that news, it stopped at hindi ko agad natuloy. The sad news is that - our beloved tita, isa sa malapit sa'kin na tita ko, who has special place in my heart, she has been confined at hospital and that was also the time na she had rested together with our Almighty God.

Day passes by, I had a chance para ituloy itong paint and if you can see 'yung paint is sobrang naiba na dun sa reference na dapat gagayahin ko. It was funny to me na kung naaalala ko lang talaga 'yung dapat magiging outcome nitong paint eh sobrang layo but on the other side  napaka vulnerable and meaningful nitong paint. Tinapos ko itong paint si Tita yung iniisip ko, si Tita 'yung naging inspirasyon ko dito. Natapos ko itong paint na 'to its because nag let it be lang ako, sobrang nagkaroon ako ng freedom sa pagpepaint dito na hindi ko na inisip yung reference, I finished this paint with all my heart and what my heart inside that time 🥺

You know what I realized?

Every paint has a story, a story between the artist and the piece. Even the paint is not pleased to our eyes, even na hindi natin trip, gusto or should I say na hindi tayo nagagandahan. But the truth is, hindi mo makikita yung kagandahan at hindi mo maappreciate yung isang bagay kung hindi mo aalamin yung story. Marahil sa iba, its just a simple wave but to the someone who made this, it is not a simple, it was something special and may vulnerable connection between the artist and this paint. 

And you know what, lahat naman ng nagpepaint, gumagawa ng mga artworks, lahat ng mga creators. Bago pa sila magcreate, bago pa nila hawakan yung brush - may story na sila from the very start.
Every artwork is special, kaya hindi natin pwede i-invalidate yung beauty ng piece based sa itsura lang, we have to know or put inside to our mind that  "Every piece of art has a beautiful story" 💖
