Running man "TruGary Show EP60"
The Mysterious Ending

(Re-Caption - texts from images ^^)

One of the most intriguing episodes of Running Man that still bothers me.

Basically, to sum it all up

In this episode, Gary gets his chance to be a spy and eliminate everyone without being discovered.

But the twist here, the real game was for the other members.
To win their mission, they had to convince Gary that he was tricking the members although they knew he was a spy, up until the end of the episode's filming.

In the end, Gary took out all the members, and the cast members pulled off their act of being let down and deceived by Gary.
Gary took home his winnings and the satisfaction of having been a successful spy. After he left, the rest of the Running Man members were given their prizes for having completely fooled Gary.

Therefore, the true spies of this episode were Running Man, except for Gary.

BUT! THE ENDING CONFUSES ME A LOT!

where Kang Gary was walking awkwardly going home and showing Gary’s face, which seemed very pleased. ( Was he aware that the other members knew what his goal was, which meant he wasn't tricked?? What’s the real ending? Hmmm )

and because I am curious as a cat
I tried to search on the internet and so ...

The last scene where Gary changes his walk ( his feet were awkwardly positioned while walking then suddenly became straight) is an ode and reference to the movie -- “The Usual Suspects 1995"

AND I AM COMPLETELY SHOOKT!!!

The movie's antagonist, Keyser Soze - a con artist with cerebral palsy, has been working with police to help solve a crime that occurred. To get to the point, the police were able to solve the mystery that Keyser Soze was truly the suspect behind everything but had already escaped from their hands.

In the final scene, It sees him limping before straightening up and then walking down the street as a free man, getting into a car, and completely vanishing.

This scene hints that he is the real suspect and the true antagonist in this film.

Does Gary fall for it until he realizes that he was fooled during the broadcast?
OR Maybe he never figured it out and the PD instructed him to do the crossed walk. kekeke

They did not release a clip of the big reveal, and they did not talk about what the cliffhanger ending means.

I think the PD's intentionally left it that way for the viewers to interpret it themselves much like the ending of Inception.

And Ooh BTW, Scary Movie parodied also "The Usual Suspects"Scene lololols 😄

Okay! Lets go back!

Whatever the truth is... This EP was a top-notch episode!! 👏👏 This episode is hilarious and I couldn't stop laughing while I rewatching this. Clap Clap to the writers & Producers! Good Old Days of Running Man!! Poor Gary HAHA 😂💦

My forever comfort Korean variety show 💖
